CHAPTER 41

Pause, publish, and schedule graph extraction

Control large graph jobs safely and understand when scheduled extraction can run.

On this page

Large graph extractions advance in safe batches. While a job is running, you can pause it, publish the completed portion, continue from a checkpoint, or finish the job. Each control takes effect after the active safe batch closes so the graph is not left half-written.

Four run controls

  • Pause extraction: finish the active safe batch and save a checkpoint.
  • Generate nodes now: finish the batch and publish the nodes and relationships collected so far, leaving the remainder for later.
  • Continue extraction: resume from the saved checkpoint without sending completed manuscript batches to the model again.
  • End and keep current results: close this run while retaining everything already generated and saved.

Schedule an extraction

A scheduled extraction belongs to the current project. Choose a time, source range, and depth, then save the schedule. NovelFlow must still be running when the scheduled time arrives. You may close the graph page; the app-level scheduler can still start the job.

The status moves through waiting, preparing, running, completed, and stopped. A presave, network, or model failure shows its reason and keeps progress instead of submitting the same work every second. Resolve the reported model, network, or save problem, then continue from the checkpoint.
